Hay bastantes buenas razones para asistir a una convencion de animé. Una de ellas, hay cosplayers en todos lados, y además, suficientes animé y manga para hacer un otaku como una adolescente, y finalmente,¿quién no ama la sala de stands? Incluso con todo esto, hay todavía una cosa mejor: un show en vivo de una impresionante banda de rock japonesa. La presentación de 12012 no dejó absolutamente nada que desear.
Como de costumbre, me quedé en la parte trasera y eché una mirada al público antes del show. Vi a algunas personas vestidas con ropa casual de rock, mientras que otros estuvieron sentados para el delirio más tarde en la noche. Me gustó especialmente una juerguista quien tenía un sombrero de mokana (para ver: http://bit.ly/f53Grf) espirales de colores que salen de el parte superior. Alrededor de las 10:30, como el club de música de terminó y las luces se apagaron, la anticipación de la multitud se alistó para llenar algunos huecos. Momentos después 12012 subió al escenario, sopló y nos llevó a todos con ellos.
El show comenzó con "Just the way you are" y la multitud entró en un frenético esfuerzo para alcanzar a la banda sobre la barra. Sin perder el paso, 12012 siguió con "Gallows" y con "Wana". Una de mis personales canciones favoritas, "Cyclone", fue la siguiente, seguido de un poco de charla de Miyawaki a la multitud para recobrar energías. La abnda puso en marcha "Vomit" y miré a la multitud saltar. Por ahora, todos en la sala estaban empapados de sudor mientras que 12012 tocaba con cada onza de energía que poseían.
La banda tocó unas pocas canciones lentas como "Lovers" y "Over"... para calmar un poco a la multitud. Por supuesto, la calma no duró mucho ya que 12012 se potenció con "Usubeni to ame", "Shin shoku" y su última canción "the pain of the catastrophe". La banda arrojó pios, toallas y baquetas a la multitud y se fueron del escenario dejándonos a todos cantando por más. Muchos miembros de la audiencia estuvieron cantando "roast beef” mientras esperaban la repetición. Más tarde, durante el meet and greet, descubrí que a uno de los miembros de la banda había respondido a varias preguntas acerca de sus preferecinas particulares para cenar. Después de unos pocos minutos de canto, los chicos en la banda subieron al escenario una vez más.
La repetición de 12012 rockeó fuerte y rápido, comenzando con "Shower" y luego progresando con "[6]party", y la canción final "Shine". A lo largo de todo el show, la banda mantuvo saltando a la multitud y gritando en puro deleite. Todo el camino al hotel, disfruté recordando las canciones en mi cabeza y los zumbidos en mis oídos.

[Now there are quite a few good reasons to attend an anime convention. For one, there are cosplayers all over the place, plus enough anime and manga to make an otaku “squeeee!” like a teenage girl, and finally, who doesn't love the dealer room? Even with all this there is still one thing better: a live show from an awesome Japanese rock band. 12012's performance left absolutely nothing to be desired.
As per usual I hung towards the back and did some people-watching before the show. I saw some dressed in casual rock clothes, while others were all set for the rave later on in the evening. I particularly liked the one raver who had a mokana hat with colorful spirals coming out of the top. Around 10:30, as the club music died and the lights went down, the crowd's anticipation amped up a few notches. Moments later 12012 took the stage blew and us all away.
The show opened with JUST THE WAY YOU ARE, and the crowd went into a frenzy straining to reach the band over the barrier. Without breaking stride, 12012 followed up with Gallows and Wana. One of my personal favorites, CYCLONE, came up next, followed by Miyawaki chatting up the crowd a bit to keep the energy up. The band launched into vomit and I watched the crowd jump, dance and scream the lyrics back at the band. By now everyone in the room was dripping in sweat as 12012 played with every ounce of energy they possessed.
The band played a few slower songs such as LOVERS and Over... to calm the crowd a bit. Of course, the lull didn't last long as 12012 powered through with Usubeni to Ame, Shin Syoku, and their last song THE PAIN OF CATASTROPHE. The band threw picks, towels and drumsticks to the crowd and left the stage leaving us chanting for more. Many audience members were chanting “roast beef” while waiting for the encore; I found out later during the Q&A that one of the band members had been answering several questions with that particular dinner item. After a few minutes of chanting, the boys in the band took the stage once more.
12012's encore rocked hard and fast, starting off with Shower and then progressing into [6]party, and the final song SHINE. Throughout the entire show, the band kept the crowd jumping and screaming in pure delight. All the way back to my hotel room, I enjoyed the play back in my head and the ringing in my ears .
